Navajos at camp going through enlistment
Navajo Code Talkers were Native Americans who fought alongside of the United States Marine Corps. There were about 400 Navajos who worked and fought with the marines. Navajos had the most dangerous job of all, not only having to send and translate codes, but on the battlefield some people mistook Navajos for Japanese soldiers. Some who were thought to be Japanese soldiers could have been executed or taken, and the Japanese could have found out their code. Navojos had to memorize a code, that was 17 pages long. On the battlefield Navajos had to send and decipher codes, while staying away from danger. Navajos were a key strategy in the war, because of their codes. During World War Two, Navajo Code Talkers broke a barrier of communication.
